Licensing

Waddles is open source under GPL-3.0 per the project README, with all core platform, interaction, and community-management modules included at no cost and no license key required to run it.

A Premium commercial license unlocks unlimited workflows per community (the free tier is capped at 1), advanced analytics and AI insights, browser source overlays and captions, custom raffle sounds and messages, and priority support.

A commercial license is also required to offer Waddles as a SaaS/hosting service or to embed it in a commercial product.

The repository’s license signals do not fully agree with each other: README.md states GPL-3.0, the repository root LICENSE file contains the full Apache-2.0 text, and docs/LICENSE.md contains a separate Limited-AGPL commercial-use exception. Treat the README’s GPL-3.0 statement as the documented intent, and consult the Waddles maintainers before relying on any single one of these files for actual license terms.

Customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities are on the roadmap (see Features) and not yet built — licensing and tier placement for CRM will be announced once that capability ships.
